Internal Mistrust
One of the most painful parts of the drift-and-guilt loop is what it does to relationships.
You miss the deadline.
You forget the thing.
You said you'd handle it and you didn't.
Not from lack of care, but often from genuine inability to bridge the gap between intention and follow-through in that moment.
The people around you don't see the intention. They see the result. And repeated misses build a reputation you didn't mean to earn.
This is one of the heaviest consequences of an unmanaged neurodivergent brain, not the personal frustration, but the damage to trust. The feeling that you're letting people down who believed in you.
Naming this isn't an excuse. It's the first accurate description of the problem. And accurate descriptions are where real solutions start.
